I saw this, and realized that so many people are buying things, hoping to find their happiness! Some have called it retail therapy. I think that is funny. I also notice that some are even addicted to the process. Buying things for the high of it, and then returning the item, just to be able to continue the process. I don’t know if there is a name for this, but I’m sure the hoarding shows on TV, have people who started, simple enough, and ending in a terrible situation because of it.
Today, I saw my home through the eyes of a little girl, about 10. She asked if we were rich. It took me back for a minute, because we don’t really consider ourselves to be “RICH”. We don’t have the buying addiction, because we don’t buy things just to make us feel happy. We do have expensive taste so the things we do buy are very nice. We believe Happiness is a choice.
I told her my daughter calls us the richest broke people we know. LOL We have a business, that provides for almost 50 people. We do have nice things, but not huge amounts of cash in the bank. I guess that in my mind would make me feel like we were rich. It’s such a relative term. When is enough, enough?
In my mind, when you have a roof over your head, food to feed you and your family, a car in working order that you can hop in and not worry about it breaking down. Love and laughter in your home, etc. Those are the things that I consider being rich. How about you. How much money or things do you think you would need, to feel like you’re rich?
